THE World University Ranking 2019: Once again top ranking for computer science

According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World Ranking, the Faculty of Informatics of the TU Wien is among the top 10 best technical universities in Europe

The recently published World University Ranking 2019 by Times Higher Education (THE) confirms the achievements of the Faculty of Computer Science at Vienna University of Technology and ranks it 61st in the Computer Science segment of more than 300 evaluated institutions. This makes the faculty one of the top 20% of research and teaching institutions in the field worldwide.

The TU Wien Informatik occupies the 8th place of the European technical universities in computer science. It is ranked 6th in the subject area ranking of German-speaking countries.

The annual ranking of THE takes into account a variety of criteria for the evaluation of research and teaching institutions, including in particular teaching and research, citation volume, international orientation and the contribution of investment from the economy. In addition, scientists are asked about the reputation of the universities or the respective subject areas. In total, more than 1,200 universities were evaluated for the 2019 ranking, including just over 300 in the computer science field.
