A new doctoral college “Computational Perception” will start in October 2009. The college is funded by TU Vienna and has a duration of three years. Scienific Coordinator is Margrit Gelautz at the Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems.
The doctoral college “Computational Perception” is intended to work on such problems by bringing together experts in the field of geoinformation/photogrammetry (precise measurements from images delivered by different types of cameras), in the field of computer science (image processing and computer graphics, algorithms and efficient implementation) as well as electrical engineering (object and scene perception, sensors and displays) and telecommunication (multi-sensor coding, optimal data transmission, video quality), thus addressing such hot research topic in a multi-faculty approach.
The doctoral college is established jointly by the Faculty of Informatics, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation at TU Vienna.
