======================================================================== TITEL: Quantum information processing versus complexity theory ======================================================================== ABSTRACT: Subtitel: On the interactive relationship between quantum mechanics, quantum information processing and complexity theory. Complexity theory has made key contributions to the awareness of the unexpected information processing potentials of quantum phenomena. Quantum mechanics laws and limitations have shown numerous fundamental impacts on the development of the so called "quantum complexity theory" - which has been very successful in studying the problem of what could be achieved having quantum information processing and communication tools with such inherently quantum resources as quantum parallelism, quantum entanglement, non-locality and quantum interactions. The talk will discuss main goals, approaches, methods and results of the interactions between complexity theory, quantum information processing and quantum mechanics. A new direction is to use complexity theory models, concepts, paradigms and results to get a deeper understanding of the quantum information processing world and also of quantum mechanics itself. Recent results, new directions and main challenges will be pointed out. ======================================================================== Kurzbiographie zu Professor Gruska ======================================================================== Prof. Jozef Gruska holds a professorship of computer science at the faculty of informatics in Bratislava (Slovakia) and at the Commenius university in Bratislava.
