Abstract

Florian Gschwandtner, CEO & co-founder of Runtastic - a world leader in mobile health & fitness, reflects on the start-up processes and his experiences in building a successful company from scratch. He describes his lessons learned and those of his fellow co-founders, the do’s and don’ts of founding a start-up and what they would do differently if they had the opportunity to go back in time. Additionally, Florian will share insights collected throughout his journey some of them ending up being less stressful than anticipated, as well as instances where the workload, personally & professionally, was highly underestimated.

Biography

Florian Gschwandtner is CEO and Co-Founder of Runtastic. Runtastic combines mobile applications, proprietary hardware & the services of Runtastic.com to create a comprehensive fitness and health ecosystem that enables users to track daily activities, monitor progress and achieve personal goals. Florian studied Mobile Computing in Hagenberg, Austria and Supply Chain Management in Steyr, Austria before he started his career as an entrepreneur in 2009. Florian is responsible for most of the ideas and concepts behind the ever-growing suite of exciting Runtastic products and services. He is also the public face of the company and can often be seen at industry events, conferences, and expos. He loves to interact with the crowd and share his enthusiasm for fitness!

Participants have the chance to learn F2F from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs who share their lessons learned. Together they identify DOs and DON’Ts based on the innovation cases presented.
