Statistical projections of various institutions show that the future costs for public institutions will increase

Abstract

Statistical projections of various institutions show that the future costs for public institutions will increase as a consequence of the growth of the global older adult population. This future scenario requires feasible solutions to increase older adults wellbeing and to lower costs. In our Social Informatics research group we study how information systems can realize social goals ad apply social concepts. We focus in the intersection of social behaviour and computationalsystems, and relates to the interdisciplinary study of the design, uses and consequences of information technologies that takes into account their interaction with institutional and culturalcontexts. This presentation will present recentresearch activities carried out in the Social Informatics Research group at the University of Trento focusing on Active Aging on both physical and cognitive aspects.
