The first meeting of the recently formed International Advisory Board of the Faculty of Informatics took place on December 12 and 13, 2016. The board includes five renowned scientists and managers from academic institutions - Hans Akkermans (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, NL), Carlo Ghezzi (Politecnico di Milano, IT), Edward Lee (UC Berkeley, USA), Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann (University of Geneva, CH and Nanyang Technological University, SG), and Moshe Vardi (Rice University, USA).

The aim of this meeting was to provide the board members with a comprehensive insight into the Faculty structure, tasks and future plans and to seek the their strategic advice on matters such as research, teaching, personnel, innovation and the relationship with society. Two days of in-depth analysis, lively discussions and the recommendations given showed that establishing such a board was an excellent decision.
