Vienna Center for Logic and Algorithms (VCLA) of the Faculty of Informatics, respecting the tradition of its co-founder Helmut Veith, is once again partnering up with the Vienna Ball of Sciences, which is going to take place on January 27, 2018 – starting at 8 pm in the splendid ball room of Vienna’s townhall.

The Vienna Ball of Sciences represents Vienna’s science and research community in its excellence and diversity. The uniqueness of the ball is its combination of the typical Viennese Ball´s elements and contributions from Vienna’s universities showcasing in a playfully classic atmosphere the outstanding research capabilities of the science hub of central Europe.

Logic puzzle: Opening the doors to another dimension

VCLA is excited to present the ball’s guests with a logic puzzle, designed especially for the occasion. The first ten attendees who are going to solve the puzzle correctly will receive a technology which is able to create a uniquely blended interactive experience. Almost like opening the doors to the other dimension. Which one? Take a look at your ball table or visit the VCLA booth at the third Vienna Science Ball and find out for yourself.

The “science ball promotes diversity, reaching out to students and researchers from all academic disciplines and institutions. Like Berlin’s Falling Walls conference (…) it is a clever attempt to associate a big city’s science base with its most distinguished cultural characteristics. And the sold-out event was ample proof that the organizers had hit a nerve.“ (Nature, 3. Februar 2017)
