Our lecturer Vesna Šešum-Čavić from the Institute of Information Systems Engineering took over the chair for Women in Computational Intelligence (WCI)

The CIS (Computational Intelligence Society) is a structure under the umbrella of the world’s biggest association of technical professionals known as the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), whose objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering, and allied disciplines. The Computational Intelligence Society focusses on the theory, design, application and development of computational paradigms. The Women in Computational Intelligence Sub-Committee (WCI-Committee) develops, promotes, organises and runs activities directed to achieve the promotion of women in the field of computational intelligence.

Eva Kühn, professor at the Compilers and Languages Group of the Faculty of Informatics, was Vesna Šešum-Čavić’s doctoral supervisor and actively supports her in her research work. Artificial intelligence, swarm intelligence, self-organisation, theory and design of algorithms, complex systems, scalable distributed systems, multi-agent systems and space-based computing are Šešum-Čavić’s main research areas.
