Women in computer science - not only on Women's Day

The International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year, as a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Since women in computer science are still underrepresented, the Faculty of Informatics supports women in several ways and is actively committed to gender mainstreaming. Deadline for applications for the Helmut-Veith-Scholarship is November 30, 2019.

The Helmut-Veith-Scholarship

In memory of our faculty member Professor Helmut Veith (1971-2016), who was an esteemed colleague and outstanding computer scientist, the Helmut-Veith-Scholarship for female master students was established. Helmut worked in the fields of logic in computer science, computer-aided verification, software engineering, and computer security and was a strong advocate and mentor for women in informatics.
The Helmut-Veith-Scholarship is awarded annually to excellent and motivated female students who pursue one of the master’s programs in informatics at TU Wien. Students who are awarded the Helmut-Veith-Scholarship
are supported by a grant of 6,000 Euros annually for a duration of up to two years. Apart from that, they are exempted from tuition fees. Interested students can apply by November 30 and can find more detailed information here
