Abstract
ICT consumes a lot electrical energy. Worldwide, its carbon footprint is roughly equivalent of the one of aeronautics. As web 2.0 and clouds are exploding, this consumptions will rise significantly in the next few years. A large part of ICT systems (energy-wise) are located in clusters, grids and clouds.
I will present our autonomic approach to improve energy efficiency in those systems, showing the four elements of autonomic systems:
- Monitoring
- Mathematical Modeling
- Decision center
- Acting
