HiPEAC 2014 - Premier Conference on High-Performance and Embedded Architectures and Compilers

The HiPEAC conference aims to become the premier forum for experts in computer architecture, programming models, compilers and operating systems for embedded and general-purpose systems.

Emphasis is given on either cross-cutting research (embedded/high performance, architecture/software stack, etc.) or innovative ideas (new programming models, novel architecture approaches to cope with technology constraints or new technologies, etc.).

Associated with the 9th HiPEAC conference there will take place 24 workshops, 6 tutorials, an industrial exhibit and a presentation of current EU projects within the scope of the HiPEAC conference. During the reception on Monday evening, there will be an additional large poster session, where all conferences attendees are invited to present a poster of their own recent research.

Highlights of the scientific program of the main conference:

  • Power-Aware Computing: Then, Now, and into the Future
    Margaret Martonosi, Princeton University
  • The Road to new Programming Models and Architectures for Future Heterogeneous Systems
    David Kaeli, Northeastern University
  • Correct Compilers for Correct Processors
    Andreas Krall, TU Vienna
  • The Perfect Storm
    Paolo Faraboschi, HP Labs

Provider and main sponsor of the conference is the "European Network of Excellence on High Performance and Embedded Architecture and Compilation (HiPEAC)". Conference chairs are Valentina Salapura, IBM TJ Watson Research Center, and Jens Knoop, TU Vienna, who also leads together with Ewa Vesely, TU Vienna, the local organizing committee. Both are from the Compilers and Languages Group of the Institute for Computer Languages.
