Scholarships opportunities for qualified students to pursue research at outstanding universities
The Agency for Science, Technology and Research A*STAR placed in Singapore offers scholarships for PhD students as well as BS and MS students. Undergraduates are welcome to apply for short-term internships (Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award, SIPGA) at ADSC or one of A*STAR Research Institutes.
For PhD study at local Singapore universities after graduation with BS or MS degree there is the opportunity by application for the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) to receive a full scholarship up to four years. Furthermore, currently enrolled PhD students are invited to apply for support while continuing their research projects at one of the A*STAR Research Institutes, including ADSC if the research is in IT, under the co-supervision with home institution’s research supervisor. This A*STAR Research Attachment Programme (ARAP) may last up to two years.
The University of Illinois, USA, collaborates with A*STAR in Singapore, where the university holds as well several research centers.
