Mit den Studienrichtungen Informatik und Wirtschaftsinformatik betreut die Fakultät für Informatik derzeit die größte und viertgrößte Studienrichtung an der TU Wien. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich Medieninformatik und Visual Computing, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Technische Informatik, Verteilte und Parallele Systeme sowie Computational Intelligence.

A new doctoral college “Computational Perception” will start in October 2009. The college is funded by TU Vienna and has a duration of three years. Scienific Coordinator is Margrit Gelautz at the Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems.
