How to Build the Social Web

The web is more and more social. But currently each social networks is an Island to itself.

The web is more and more social. But currently each social networks is an Island to itself. This talk will show how one can build a global social web, allowing people to link to each other globally across social services in a transparent way. We will describe the problem and show how to solve it RESTfully using widely deployed standards such as foaf and ssl.

The talk will last about 40 minutes, followed by a hands-on session (about 30 minutes). For the session, you are invited to bring your notebook to try out the shown examples.
