Abstract

Building a startup in the ICT sector is challenging, but it is also great fun. In this talk, Bernhard will share his day-to-day experiences and lessons learned from building, running, and closing technology-driven startups, from his perspective as co-founder and CTO.

Biography

Bernhard Schandl is Technical Director of mySugr, a Vienna-based startup providing mobile healthcare solutions for people with diabetes. Prior to joining mySugr, he was co-founder and CTO of Gnowsis, where he was responsible for the development and operations of cloud-based productivity and information retrieval solutions. Before that, he obtained a PhD in computer science from University of Vienna, where he worked as researcher in the field of semantic information management.

Note

This lecture is part of the “Public Lecture Series on Innovation Cases” and organized by the Informatics Innovation Center and Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems. Participants have the chance to learn F2F from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs who share their lessons learned. Together they identify DOs and DON’Ts based on the innovation cases presented.
